Welcome
The Unit 1 Residential Halls are located just one block away from the campus on the corner of College Avenue and Durant Avenue. We provide residence for over 1400 students each year, the largest of all the residence halls at UC Berkeley. During the summer, we see a number of various summer conferences.
Unit 1 consists of two different living style housing in its six residential buildings. Cheney, Deutsch, Freeborn, and Putnam Halls are the traditional highrises or towers. Christian and Slottman are mini-suite environments.
